How can you ease back into exercising?

How can you ease back into exercising?

That's it—the new year has begun! We might as well make the most of it, get off on the right foot, and try to stick to our New Year's resolutions

If one of your goals is to get back into exercise, this article will give you all the tips you need to make it happen.

From motivation to gear, including the right techniques for getting back into sports—we’ve got you covered!

We set achievable goals for returning to sports

The first thing to do is set achievable goals so that you can reach them and stay motivated. If you set the bar too high, you risk losing motivation or, worse, getting injured. It’s therefore important to think about why you want to get back into exercise, what goals you think are achievable, and how much time you want to dedicate to this activity.

We also recommend that you start with goals that are easy to achieve and then gradually increase your efforts, depending on how you feel. By building up gradually, you’ll stay motivated and be able to adjust your new exercise routine without feeling guilty.

We find a sport or physical activity that we enjoy

What better way to get motivated than by playing a sport you enjoy? Are you more into outdoor activities or indoor classes? Team sports, or do you prefer to go it alone?

All of these factors are important. Of course, you can switch up your activities to break the routine and keep boredom at bay. And don’t forget about the seasons! Because while swimming is great in the summer, winter temperatures could quickly sap your motivation!

If you're more of a gym person, check out the gyms near your home or work to see which one you like best. In fact, most gyms offer free trial sessions so you can try them out before committing.

Having the Right Equipment

Another very important point: make sure you have the right gear. Poor-quality shoes, unsuitable clothing, or ill-fitting equipment can quickly have disastrous consequences for your health and/or your motivation. The most important factor is often your shoes. They need to provide good support and shock absorption. For other sports, it’s the equipment itself or your outfit that’s essential. Imagine playing tennis with a poorly strung racket, paddle tennis with a cracked paddle, or skiing in nothing but a pair of jeans. So before you get back into sports, take a good look at all your gear, and if necessary, don’t hesitate to ask professionals for advice.

Finding Motivation

What better way to stay motivated than to work out with others? By planning workouts with friends or a personal trainer, you’ll be sure to never run out of motivation. It’s much easier to stay motivated when you have company and others are counting on you.

There are also apps and smartwatches that let you track your performance, view your progress, and even compete with other users.

Warm up before every workout

Rule No. 1—especially when you’re getting back into exercise—is to warm up! Every good athlete knows that muscles need to be prepared before each workout. Doing so helps prevent soreness and severe muscle pain.

In fact, experts recommend taking at least 10 to 15 minutes before you start to warm up your muscles, stretch them, and loosen them up. This step is crucial and should be an integral part of your workout. It will also help you avoid injuries that can result from putting immediate strain on muscles that are still cold.

We end our workouts with stretching

Just as every workout should begin with warm-ups, every physical activity should end with a series of stretches. Doing so will stretch the muscles that were contracted and worked during exercise, helping them regain their flexibility. Be careful, however, not to overdo it. It’s actually best to do a proper stretching session a few days after your workout to give your muscles and joints time to recover.

To recover after working out, we're turning to CBD

During physical activity, our muscles and joints are put under a lot of strain and may become painful. Experts recommend listening to your body and not pushing yourself if pain sets in.

Once you've rested, your body then needs time to recover. That's why fitness trainers advise against working the same muscle group two days in a row: rest is essential for recovery.

The secret to helping your body recover after an intense workout? CBD!

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a compound derived from the hemp plant. This natural compound has properties that are highly valued by athletes. In particular, CBD aids inathletic recoveryby reducing inflammation and relieving muscle and joint pain. In fact, many athletes have already incorporated it into theirwellness routines. Whetheras a sublingual oil, in a massage withCBD oils or balms, or even as a tea, you’re spoiled for choice!

There you go! Now all you have to do is get dressed and reach all your fitness goals!

With CBD on your side, there's no doubt you'll get back into sports successfully!
