Naturally found in hemp (or cannabis), CBD (or cannabidiol) is a cannabinoid that has many positive effects on our bodies. Among CBD’s benefits, the best known and most widely recognized is its relaxing effect. And unlike THC, which is also found in cannabis, CBD is not addictive and does not produce any psychoactive effects.
High Society offers a recipe for CBD butter to add a touch of originality to your dishes and treat you to a moment that’s both indulgent and relaxing.
Why Make CBD-Infused Butter?
Our bodies need healthy fats—found, for example, in oil, butter, fish, etc.—to provide certain nutrients, such as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which the body cannot produce on its own. Furthermore, CBD and the other cannabinoids found in cannabis are lipophilic; that is, they need to bind to fat in order to be absorbed by our bodies and thus release all their active compounds.
Some of the benefits of CBD include:
- A reduction in stress and anxiety
- A reduction in inflammation
- Better digestion
- Pain relief
To combine the benefits of healthy fats with those of CBD, nothing beats butter. It’s a versatile ingredient that can be enjoyed on its own—whether spread on a slice of bread or used in a more elaborate cake recipe—not to mention, of course, the classic dish of pasta with butter.
How do you make CBD butter?
CBD butter is butter that has been infused with CBD flowers. For our recipe, you have two options: if you’re looking for a light and subtle flavor, we recommend using trimmings. If, on the other hand, you’d like a butter with a more pronounced flavor, go for CBD flowers. Since this recipe calls for 25 g of CBD, we recommend our selection ofCBD at €1 per gramto make a potent and flavorful butter without breaking the bank.
Tous nos produits CBD High Society ont un taux de THC < 0,2% et respectent ainsi les lois française et européenne, vous assurant ainsi une consommation en toute légalité.

CBD Butter Recipe
Step 1: Decarboxylation of CBD
Before you start making your CBD butter, you need to decarboxylate your CBD flowers or trimmings. When heated (in this case, in your oven), the cannabinoids in the hemp will become active. If you skip this step, your butter won’t provide any of the benefits of CBD.
To decarboxylate your flowers, simply start by grinding them into a powder, which will help your body absorb them more effectively.
Next, spread them out on your baking sheet (lined with parchment paper if desired) and bake for 40 minutes at 110 degrees. Be sure to stir them occasionally to ensure the CBD heats evenly.
Step 2: Infusing the butter with CBD
Once decarboxylation is complete, you can begin the infusion process. To do this, heat 1 L of water, then reduce the heat before it starts to boil. Next, slowly add your butter while lowering the heat to low. Be careful not to burn yourself. The water is essential to prevent the butter from burning in the pot. Once the butter has melted, add your ground flowers or trimmings. This is where the infusion process really begins. Let your mixture infuse over low heat for at least 3 hours and up to 24 hours. The longer you let the CBD flowers simmer, the richer your butter will be in cannabinoids and the more you’ll feel its relaxing effects. Your butter is ready when you can clearly see two distinct layers of liquid: the oil on top and the water below.
Step 3: Filtering the CBD butter
It’s time to move on to the filtration step. It couldn’t be simpler: pour the mixture into a bowl through a strainer. This will filter out the larger pieces of CBD flowers or trimmings from your butter. If there are still small pieces left, you can repeat this step by straining your butter again using a coffee filter.
Last step: let the butter cool
Before enjoying your CBD-infused butter, there’s one last step: you’ll need to put it in the fridge for several hours to let it harden. Once it has solidified, all you have to do is scoop out your CBD butter by gently scraping the top of the mixture, being careful not to mix it with the bottom layer of water.
Your CBD butter is now ready to eat. We recommend storing it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, in a sealed container, to prevent it from going rancid.
Cooking with CBD Butter
You can add CBD butter to any dish as you like. However, avoid heating it too much—for example, by putting it directly into a hot skillet. This could degrade the cannabinoids it contains and thus reduce their effects.
You can also flavor your butter however you like: with spices, herbes de Provence, citrus fruits, coconut, vanilla, and more. If you do, be sure to add them to your mixture when you’re letting it infuse.

Which CBD flower should you choose to make your own butter?
You can make butter using any variety of CBD flowers. However, depending on your preferences, you can choose varieties with more or less sweet aromas.
