Recipe: Make Your Own CBD Syrup!

Recipe: Make Your Own CBD Syrup!

Today, we’re going to share a quick and easy recipe so you can make your own CBD syrup. You can then use it as an ingredient in your favorite recipes for a richer flavor and, most importantly, to enjoy all the benefits of CBD

The recipe for CBD syrup:

Ingredients (for 100 ml of syrup):

- 100 ml of water

- 100 g of sugar

- 2 tablespoons of organic vegetable glycerin

- 2 g of CBD flowers

Step 1: Decarboxylation of CBD flowers

First, to convert CBDA into CBD, you need to decarboxylate the 2 g of flower. It couldn’t be simpler. Preheat your oven to 110°C, then crumble the flower onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Once the oven is hot, place the baking sheet with the flower inside, and let it bake for 40 minutes.

This process will activate the CBD, making it bioavailable and thus easier to absorb. This will allow you to enjoy all the benefits of the CBD contained in the flowers.

Step 2: Preparing the CBD syrup

In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar, then heat over medium heat.

When the water begins to simmer, add the decarboxylated CBD flowers.

Reduce the heat to low, then let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. It’s important not to let the water boil, as this will cause the molecule to lose its active ingredients.

Once the 30 minutes are up, add the glycerin, then stir for 5 minutes. Adding glycerin to the syrup allows the CBD to bind to its lipid base, making it absorbable by our bodies.

Step 3: The final stage of preparing the CBD syrup

Let the syrup cool by placing it in a dark place at room temperature.

Once the CBD syrup has reached room temperature, we recommend transferring it to an airtight bottle. This will help preserve it better.

How do you use CBD syrup?

CBD syrup can be used in cooking as an ingredient.

You can use your syrup to enhance your cocktails and drinks or to add unique flavors to your dishes. If you enjoy sweet-and-savory combinations, CBD syrup is the perfect way to add a subtle hint of hemp to your culinary creations.

Indulge in the aroma of hemp in your favorite pastries and sweets, and let your imagination run wild to fully enjoy its benefits in a delicious and enchanting way.

What are the benefits of CBD:

When we consume CBD in food form, it takes longer to take effect in our bodies than when it is inhaled or taken as a sublingual oil. In fact, even though it takes longer for the body to absorb cannabidiol, the effects are more localized. Since the molecule is digested, it acts by specifically targeting the consumer’s digestive system. This is a good alternative for people suffering from digestive pain.

CBD generally helps manage stress, anxiety, and mood. Sometimes, when we’re stressed, anxious, or in a bad mood, we feel a “knot in our stomach.” That’s why consuming CBD through food can counteract these unwanted effects and promote deep relaxation and a soothing sense of calm by stimulating melatonin production.

CBD has numerous benefits and affects our entire body in a broad sense. For example, CBD is said to be an excellent anti-inflammatory and may provide relief for certain conditions such as osteoarthritis, multiple sclerosis, and joint pain, among others. It’s also worth noting its antioxidant properties! In fact, cannabidiol is believed to reduce the activity of the sebaceous glands, which are responsible for causing acne.

Why Use CBD in Cooking?

In cooking, the use of cannabidiol offers several benefits and advantages. First of all, it’s an excellent flavor enhancer. It brings out the various flavors in a dish, much like thyme, rosemary, or other aromatic herbs. It can be used in various ways as long as the CBD is decarboxylated (activating the CBD in the flower by baking it), then mixed with a fat (such as milk, butter, cream, etc.). Since CBD is hydrophobic but lipophilic, it can only bind to fats.

We can also consume this molecule in oil form. This makes it possible to incorporate it into simple recipes such as salad dressing or guacamole, for example.

Finally, CBD resin can also be used to enhance certain sauces. You can also use hemp to create beverages with a unique flavor, or incorporate our amazing honey—which already contains all the active ingredients needed for the body to absorb the molecule—into your signature recipes.

You can also add the amount of CBD you want to achieve the desired concentration.

And above all, don't forget that CBD is best absorbed when taken with a fatty substance! This is essential for reaping its benefits.
