Although you can use all kinds of e-liquids with an e-cigarette, you don’t vape a CBD e-liquid the same way you would a nicotine e-liquid. Here’s how to vape CBD properly.
Which CBD products can you vape?
Today,CBD products come in many forms: oils, creams, herbal teas, e-liquids, crystals, CBD vapes…
However, not all of these products are intended for inhalation, and do not confuseCBD oil with CBD e-liquid.
E-cigarettes are designed to work exclusively with e-liquids. These products are made of propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG), which are perfectly suited for vaping.
The PG/VG ratio of an e-liquid determines not only the amount of vapor produced by your e-cigarette but also the intensity of the e-liquid's flavors.
Vaping CBD oil is therefore strictly prohibited. You risk, on the one hand, damaging your equipment, and on the other hand, inhaling an adulterated product whose effects are unknown.
If you have a thorough understanding of the subject and the proper dosages, you can use very high-quality crystals and dilute them in a neutral PG/VG base.
However, buying CBD e-liquids is the most reliable way to vape a high-quality, effective product and protect your equipment. Order these products from our CBD shop.
Which e-cigarette should you choose for vaping CBD?
In practice, virtually all e-cigarettes allow you to vape CBD e-liquid.
However, vaping CBD requires the right equipment and specific settings for an optimal vaping experience.
Equipment and Settings for Vaping CBD
The intense high caused by CBD e-liquids can be very unpleasant when vaping. It is therefore recommended to opt for indirect inhalation of the product.
With this inhalation method, you’ll enjoy a tight draw, similar to that of a traditional cigarette. The process involves two steps: drawing the vapor into your mouth, then inhaling it into your lungs.
As for the equipment, you’ll want to choose coils of about 1 ohm, which are ideal for a low airflow. The battery power should be around 10–15 watts, never exceeding 30 watts. These settings produce little vapor, unlike direct-to-lung mode, but vaporizing the product at a slow rate helps prevent you from using up your CBD e-liquid too quickly.
Exclusive equipment for inhaling CBD?
CBD contains terpenes. These aromatic compounds are sometimes so potent that it may be necessary to thoroughly clean your e-cigarette or replace the clearomizer when switching to a different product.
If you’d rather keep your e-cigarette, choose a clearomizer designed specifically for vaping CBD e-liquid. As mentioned earlier, opt for a model with indirect inhalation and make sure your e-cigarette has a battery with adjustable voltage and wattage.
Otherwise, the easiest option is to buy an e-cigarette designed specifically for vaping CBD. Starter kits are a good option. They’re very easy to use, and the settings are usually automatic based on the coil you choose.
CBD and Nicotine: Are There Differences When Vaping?
The body takes longer to absorb CBD than it does nicotine. As a result, it takes longer for the effects to kick in. That’s why it’s best to vape CBD for short but intense sessions. Sessions lasting 10–20 minutes are more than enough.
For longer sessions, choose e-liquids with a low CBD content.
Nicotine and CBD have opposing effects. Nicotine is stimulating and may inhibit the relaxing effects of CBD. To fully enjoy the benefits of vaping CBD, it is recommended to space out your vaping sessions with these two products.
